Project Linus Sew-In Become a "Blanketeer"!
You can help!Project Linus's mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade quilts, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” As a quilter you are caring, loving and thoughtful. You are the kind of person that can make a difference. There will be a Project Linus Sew-In each month. The Sew-In will be held here at the store in the classroom from 1-4. During the Sew-in you can sew, press, cut, layer up and/or quilt a/or many quilts. We will provide some fabrics, thread and notions. If you would/could please bring some fabrics (scraps, extra blocks, fabric you're not real sure why you bought) it would be greatly appreciated. Project Linus has asked, for the sake of the children, to use white backgrounds and bright colors. Patterns for the quilts will be provided. If there are any simple patterns you like please bring them. We have new sewing machines in our classroom for use. There is no need to lug yours. Project Linus Sew-In Dates (Wednesdays from 1pm-4pm): January 7th February 21st- MAKE A BLANKET DAY March 54h April 1st May 6th June 3rd July 1st August 5th September 2nd October 7th November 4th December 2nd February 21st is Make a Blanket Day. From 1-4 please join us for the beginning of a wonderful year filled with lots of LOVE. We will talk about our goals and any places locally that may need the use of Project Linus. Don’t forget about refreshments. HAHA . Lets get started making and difference doing what we LOVE! |
