Never Been to QAC?

in beautiful historic Chautauqua Institution in New York

Quilt devotee?  Shopping enthusiast?  Enjoy gardens and lake views?  The nineth annual Quilting Around Chautauqua 2012 will be held September 28, 29, and 30. All of your needs will be satisfied.

One of the main attractions of the event is the number of quilts that are on display—over 900 beautiful quilts that are as diverse as the colors in your fabric stash. The quilts are housed in different locations around the grounds of Chautauqua Institution; their placement allows you to meander through this magnificent setting and enjoy each guild's art. The allure of this large quilt show has drawn more than 5,000 shopping quilters through the gates during the last eight years. The hours of the event are Saturday, September 29, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Sunday, September 30, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

During your leisurely stroll, you can also conveniently shop in many different locations hosting over 60 vendors where you can see the newest products and techniques for your quilting craft. In addition to retail vendors within the buildings, there will also be artisans and craft persons outdoors on Bestor Plaza, with food vendors offering a delightful complement to the festival atmosphere

Previous speakers include the quilt diva herself, Eleanor Burns, Nancy Zieman of the PBS sewing program, Sewing with Nancy, Kaye England, nationally known for her quilting techniques, books, patterns, and fabric lines, Betty Cotton, Karen Montgomery, Mary Mulari, and Rita Faro.
